Unicharm Achieves ISO 14001 Certification in Brazil

Standard is inline with company's environmental and social goals

Unicharm Corporation achieved ISO 14001 certification at its Brazilian subsidiary in November 2024.

ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems that provides a framework for organizations to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions while balancing socioeconomic needs.

Unicharm is committed to contributing to a healthier planet through its business activities, including the provision of products and services. The company aims to solve environmental and social issues and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.This achievement is inline with Unicharm’s mid-to-long-term ESG goals “Kyo-sei Life Vision 2030” announced in October 2020, in which the company declared its aim to “Provide hygienic and convenient products and services and contribute to making the global environment better.” Unicharm has established five important themes under the title of “Protecting and supporting the health of the Earth,” and is developing various initiatives to achieve these themes.

As part of these efforts, each of the Unicharm Group companies is working to obtain ISO 14001 certification throughout all of its sites. As of November 2024, Unicharm’s ISO 14001 certification coverage rate is 74.2% (76.9% in Japan, 72.2% overseas).
